Renovation of the Carleton Grange began in early summer of 2005. The project was headed by Avalon Investment Group Inc. in conjunction with Architect Craig Ellsworth. The building originally held several different machine shops, and was most recently housing a basement repair company. The structure itself is mostly made of concrete block. The interior walls were demolished down to the shell of the building before new construction commenced.  Recently the development of the Merchant's Row Building accross the street on Sivyer Avenue has added a lot more activity to this developing location.
